Our Major Objectives

Swavalambi trust is a voluntary, committed, dedicated organization for the inclusive development of the poorest of the poor, marginalized and excluded groups of the society. With the above mentioned vision and mission, The trust has been officially registered on 13th of September 2011 with seven light minded, devoted, fully dedicated members contributing to the welfare of disabled people, poor children and women living in rural, semi urban and slum areas. There are also hundreds of volunteers involved and are actively contributing to the implementation of the various activities.

Working for the inclusive development of disabled persons, poor women and children by establishing inclusive vocational, empowerment, training centers in both urban and rural areas.
Promoting inclusive resource centers with accessible information, literatures, materials, equipments, assistive devices, information technology,training and learning materials required for the empowerment/self independence of marginalized groups such as persons with different groups of disabilities, women, children or any other socially deprived groups in the society.
Extend support to poor people, disabled persons and to the weaker sections on health promotion, disability prevention, rehabilitation and institution care, support and promote models of community based inclusive development in rural areas.
Supporting the disabled persons and economically weaker population/ orphan and poor people to get basic needs, livelihood and training to become empowered.
Engage in collaboration with special schools/ regular schools, colleges, Universities, technical institutions and training centers for promotion of inclusive education among children and disabled students of men and women.

Establishing and managing inclusive student's swavalambi Kendra (Center for Empowerment) for disabled persons, poor students of both boys and girls and encourage them through scholarships, stipends, awards and recognition.
Organizing women, poor and disabled people into inclusive self help groups and federations, create awareness among them find solutions to improve the economic status, through the training and promotion of leadership qualities.
Creating awareness among self help groups about savings, management of loans, their rights and equality through training activities.
Promoting SHGs and DPOs of disabled persons/women's groups/committees at the village, panchayath, block/hobali, Taluk, District, state level in order to tackle their issues in collaboration with government.
Consolidation of all committees and federations at the state level and work in collaboration with state government and non governmental organizations to find the responses.
Consolidation of all such groups, committees and federations at national level and work in collaboration with central government and non governmental organizations to find the responses and make efforts to promote national level federations/ committees to coordinate at international level.
Mobilising government and non governmental services eliminate poverty and identify needs and problems of disabled people, women, children, poor people and work for their inclusive development with the support of national and international agencies.
Motivating and encouragement of interesting initiatives to promote volunteerism among people and make membership of all such volunteers in order to promote volunteerism and voluntary services.
Promotion of nationalism among disabled people, students and children, promote sports and culture, recreation, identify potentials and encourage, celebrate national festivals and important days.
Work in collaboration with GOVT, corporates, CSR initiatives, in partnership with national and international organisations or bodies or federations and the networks.
